A long, yet extremely comprehensive article. Please share it to social media. “Central Canadians” (of which I am one…) need to know of the threat to Canada’s future, posed by this hypocrite running our country. As they say in Alberta (I lived there for 5 years): “all talk and no hat”…

One issue that’s not often mentioned, is Alberta’s initiative to break from the CPP (as Québec did, decades ago). If Alberta succeeds, they would be entitled to an actuarial transfer payment, which might bankrupt the CPP…

Not sure if that’s a wise idea going forward. Although, the CPP has to present a truer more “Canadian” set of values and stability that’s vastly disappeared and return to a Canada tgat we can once again recognize. No more slogans. Just more strategic economically sound policies…benefiting ALL Canadians. No more divisions. No more rhetoric.

You’re absolutely right Christine, but it’s bargaining collateral and the Liberals are well aware of it. They have to take Alberta seriously. This initiative to open up free trade between the provinces could simply be a ploy for the federal govt to gain control and impose their ideology. It’s not the Prairie provinces voting on their own destiny, it’s Central Canadians, with their bought-off Maritime provinces.

It seems incredible that Canada has come to this point. I understand the leverage that Alberta has and rightfully so. I am slowly understanding the uniqueness that Quebec claims. What I never understood was the trade barriers between provinces. That being said, it might actually benefit all provinces (without the aid of the federal governments interference) to create collaborative mutually economic beneficial trade policies. This should never have the federal government’s input. Especially considering Liberal/NDP ideology.

I believe the provinces might actually support free trade to boost the economy and recruit new businesses and investment, with the exception of BC. Their very existence has become a departure from Canadian values. The Chinese triads, the Mexican cartels and Iranian money laundering have basically changed the face of that province. It seems that their influence is also spreading into Quebec and Ontario with the aid of Hells Angels.

All of the is due to the blind eye and leniency of the agenda of the Liberal government for the past ten years.

Provinces have to think independently of the Federal government. Strength in numbers. Hopefully, those that voted for Hope instead of facing reality will ultimately resign themselves to the fact their policies will continue to be detrimental to every Canadian and business. This elitist group of hypocrites are not concerned with Canadians only their own “global interests”.

I sincerely hope that the leverage that certain provinces hold will be extremely effective.

I totally agree with everything you are saying, but we have a small audience…

Tony, Our audience is small, but the individuals who are following the issues are informed and critical thinkers. Therein lies the hope that we can find our way from the mess we are in.

Agreed. But we also can hope …infused with logic and reality and maybe a lightbulb will turn on through extended conversations 🤞😉
